Hostal Backpackers Baños is a world unto itself, where warm, knowledgeable staff provide great service among fantastical artwork that covers every available surface.

Each stunning room is hand painted with a different ceiling and wall mural. Choose from a deep, swirling Tsunami; the melting desert of Dali; a cool, relaxing Calypso island view; the mythical mountain of Olympus and its godly inhabitants; the meditative Oriente room; a sunlit field of Girasoles (sunflowers); the thoughtful, balmy Sunset room; a butterfly and geisha Papillon room, and a glowing Vanilla Sky. Each stunning room is equipped with large, wide beds with brand new mattresses, cheerful windows, a desk and chair for reading and chatting, a wardrobe cabinet, and a large private bathroom matching the room mural.

The vibrant paintings and murals of Michaela Steinhauser are featured throughout the hostel, mixing local ethnic Ecuadorian culture with international influences that create unique and passionate works of art.



From spotless rooms and cozy lounges to breezy hammocks and a big-screen TV, we offer everything a hostel should. A fully equipped kitchen, laundry services, free internet and Wi-Fi on our computers, a pool table and game room, a DVD library and cable tv, round-the-clock reception, hot water and security, and a hostel safe are at your disposal. For those feeling adventurous, we even offer a camping zone!
